Forms are great for collecting and organizing class data, or data from an outside source. Once the spreadsheet is populated, you can create graphs, find averages, sort, and analyze the data with most of the same tools as Microsoft Excel.
Collecting Element Data: Periodic Trends
Rather than using a prepared data table, each student in the class enters data for one element (using books or preferably Wolfram|Alpha). The populated spreadsheet is shared with everyone in the course, and students work in groups to determine which data is periodic.
